The management team of Maya Group has over 40 years of experience in Manufacturing, Trading, consulting for both OEM and Contract Manufacturing.

Maya Plastic Sendirian Berhad, one of the oldest plastic factories in Johor Bahru was established in Year 1969. It was the master plan and vision of the Group Managing Director Mr. YF Chang who first produced metal buckets in Singapore.

With the changing trends from metal buckets to plastic pails, Maya Plastic produced household utensil for the domestic markets. Thereafter, PP-mattresses, HDPE and LHPE shopping bags were added into the production lines. As demands for these items declined, the production line was phased out and was relocated to other countries.

In the 80s, due to the influx of many foreign companies into Johor, injection moulding sector became popular. Maya Plastic continued to lead the market and grew in both sales volume and profit steadily. It was attributed to our higher standard and higher quality of moulding techniques and quality control system in compliance with ISO9001:2000.

Our expansion included few joint ventures with our reliable customers into both local and overseas markets. In Year 1993, Maya Plastic joint venture with Shachihata Inc, Japan, Shachihata (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd was born and situated in Johor Bahru. Maya Plastic supplied parts to Shachihata (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd in producing their stationery products X-Stamper & Artline.

In Year 1996, another joint venture with Weta Trading, Taiwan in Huiyang Province, China was to produce Siphon Pumps for mass production. This significant joint venture set foundation to enter the vast domestic market in China.

Presently, Maya Plastic concentrates in the manufacturing of Stationery parts, garden hose reel and accessories, aerosol spraying cap, milk powder container and other plastic parts. To date, Maya Plastic has established manufacturing plants in Johor, Malaysia, Changzhou and Hangzhou in China. These plants mainly produce and supply parts to worldwide international companies.
